Ultralight Water on the Appalachian Trail - what the heck do you do about water on the AT?

On long hikes you aren't going to be able to carry all the water you'll be drinking between food resupply points in your backpack. Instead, you are going to have to filter or otherwise make your water safe to drink as you go.

A trail-guide written for the hiking trail you will be walking is a great way to plan out your days so that you can always have access to more water when you need it.

One of the greatest things about the Appalachian Trail is that water is usually plentiful.
